  • BREEAM Refurbishment and fit-out - project is targeting Excellent accreditation.

  • The 45 Waterloo Street construction site is registered with the Considerate Constructors Scheme

  • Some current sustainability highlights from this project;

    • 8,800 square metres of carpet tiles were sent to the Salvation Army for cleaning before being made available to housing associations, local authorities and and individuals who need it most - delivering practical support and positive impact.

    • Working with Good Green Futures in Stirling we have donated items for resale in community shop as well as items for use in community projects including;

      • 9 x Integrated larder fridges

      • 6 x Integrated dishwashers

      • 29 x Light fittings

      • 15 Electric Hand dryers

      • 1600kg of solid wood skirting boards

    • Cleaning and reuse of existing raised access floor tiles instead of replacing with new allows for a carbon saving of approximately 177 tCO₂e.This is the equivalent of approximately 48 UK homes annual emissions or 630,000 car miles.

    • We will shortly be installing bird boxes to the roof at 45 Waterloo Street to encourage increased activity from nesting birds in the local area.  The boxes will be designed and built by local college students as part of their course work and will use timber off-cuts from existing collage activities to minimise waste.

    • Responsible sourcing of materials is underway with material being sourced from a number of approved schemes including BES 6001, FSC, PEFC, ISO 14001 EMS certified well and reuse of materials that have been reconditioned from this or other construction sites.

    • Some waste management statistics;

      • Over 987 tonnes of waste diverted from landfill to date

      • Over 118 tonnes of gypsum based products sent for closed loop recycling where it will be turned back in to gypsum products saving approximately 13t CO₂e
